Policies

1. Child Protection Policy

We are committed to safeguarding all children in our care. Our staff and volunteers follow the guidelines set out in the Children First National Guidance. Our Designated Liaison Person (DLP) is Bronte Fitzmaurice, who acts as the first point of contact for child protection concerns. All team members are Garda vetted and have completed Tuslas Children First training.

2. Code of Behaviour

All students are expected to treat fellow students and staff with respect. Bullying, disruptive behaviour, or repeated lateness will not be tolerated. Mobile phones should be silenced or off during class. Uniforms or appropriate clothing must be worn.

3. Health & Safety Policy

The safety and wellbeing of students is a priority. A qualified first aider will be present during class times. Emergency exits are clearly marked, and fire drills are conducted periodically. Any hazards must be reported immediately to staff.

4. Privacy/Data Protection Policy

We collect and process student and parent data only for administrative and safety purposes. This data is stored securely and will never be shared without consent unless required by law. All data is handled in line with GDPR regulations.

5. Photography & Media Policy

Parental consent is required before using photographs or videos of students for promotional materials, including social media. No names or personal details will be used without explicit permission.

6. Admissions/Enrolment Policy

Enrolment is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Places are only secured once the required deposit has been received. Where classes are full, students will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if a space becomes available.

7. Supervision Policy

Children are supervised at all times during classes. Adult-to-student ratios comply with best practice guidelines. Transition Year students or work experience helpers are not considered supervisors but will always be under the direct supervision of an adult team member.

8. Anti-Bullying Policy

We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying. Any reports of bullying are taken seriously and handled in a confidential and sensitive manner. Support will be offered to all parties involved.

9. Refunds & Cancellations Policy

Deposits are non-refundable. If a student withdraws before the term begins, any additional fees paid may be refunded at the discretion of the director. Missed classes will not be refunded or carried over unless cancelled by the school.

10. Equal Opportunities/Inclusion Policy

We are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all students, regardless of background, ability, or identity. Reasonable adjustments will be made to accommodate additional needs where possible.

11. Social Media & Communication Policy

We encourage positive engagement through our social media channels. We do not communicate directly with students under 18 via personal messages. All class-related communications will be sent to parents/guardians.

12. Behaviour Management Policy

Positive reinforcement and encouragement are the primary methods of behaviour management. Persistent or serious behavioural issues will be addressed with parents/guardians and may result in temporary or permanent exclusion.

13. Fire Safety & Emergency Evacuation Plan

Fire exits are clearly marked, and escape routes are reviewed regularly. In the event of a fire alarm, all students will be calmly escorted to the designated assembly point. Attendance is taken once outside.

14. Illness Policy

Students should not attend class if they are unwell with contagious symptoms such as fever, vomiting, or persistent coughing. If a student becomes ill during class, parents/guardians will be contacted and may be asked to collect them early. Good hygiene practices are encouraged at all times.

15. Complaints Policy

We welcome feedback and are committed to resolving concerns promptly. Complaints should be submitted in writing to the school director. All concerns will be treated confidentially and addressed within a reasonable timeframe.
